Microsoft has cited components shortages and a lack of capacity as the cause of shortages of Xbox 360 consoles in the shops, the Financial Times reported today. The admission comes as the software giant is widely expected to miss its target of 2.75 to three million consoles shipped in the 90 days since launch on 22 November.

The outfit is now saying that it will manage sales of 4-5.5 million by June. The release suffered from major shortages which don’t seem to be getting any better. As Xbox 360 chief Peter Moore told the FT, "Nothing’s perfect.. That’s just the way of the beast, particularly when you are ramping up factories from ground zero all the way up to full capacity."
It must be nice to be that calm.
