Electronic paper display technology E Ink Corp. and thin-film-transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display supplier LG.Philips LCD have developed a 10.1-inch flexible electronic paper display the companies believe is the largest flexible display produced to date.
The tablet-size display, to be shown at the FPD International trade show in Japan, measures less than 300 microns thick. The thin paper-white display achieves super VGA (600 x 800) resolution at 100 pixels per inch and has a 10:1 contrast ratio with four grayscale levels.
