3DVelocity.com were so impressed with the results from their Leadtek nForce2 board they tested it twice. Martyn Richards takes a look at the K7NCR18D Pro (SPP/MCP-T):

“Leadtek, despite popular belief, have been in existance since 1986, a considerable amount of time longer than some of the other nV partners. Their ‘Winfast’ brands have always collected awards throughout the industry so 3DVelocity rounded up their version of the newly introduced nForce 2 mainboard to see if Leadtek have yet another winning product on their hands. The nForce 2 is rapidly becoming the AMD based motherboard, success here could be a huge boost for this famous nV loyalist. The package Leadtek have put together here is thoroughly impressive. The ever useful Firewire card is a feature ‘Pro’ buyers will like and the rest of the bundle is very good indeed. The nForce 2 is rapidly becoming the AMD platform to own this Xmas and if you are lucky enough to be a position to use this board I would suggest you don’t hesitate. For users who don’t overclock and want a feature rich all in one setup it would be foolish to overlook this board. Plug in a new 333 CPU and obviously this setup will storm the competition, moreover though we hope we have demonstrated that those with 266 based CPU’s will reap the rewards of this board to. Users with a view to overclocking might be wise to hold off for a while to see if a new BIOS is released soon and weigh up the other nForce options on the market.

Support for DDR 400, ATA 133,an amazing audio system and the performance and driver support of nV behind them, how could Leadtek fail to produce a very special board? Thankfully they haven’t. Leadtek storm the market with a very tempting motherboard and for that they deserve high praise indeed.”
