Kensington Digital FM Radio & FM Transmitter for iPod review

May 16th 2006 | Multimedia

Unlike most of the FM transmitters out there available for iPods and other MP3 players, Kensington’s new model, the Digital FM Radio & FM Transmitter for iPod (no fancy marketing names this time) goes two ways. Instead of merely broadcasting the music stream emanating forth from your iPod, it also accepts incoming FM radio stations, allowing you to use your iPod as an old-fashioned transistor radio! How retro.

The Transmitter itself is quite diminutive in size and light in heft, thanks in part to its use of siphoned energy from the iPod’s own battery. The Transmitter requires no extra adapters or accessories at all; what you see is what you get, and that’s a big plus for those of us already weighed down with myriad chargers and adapters.
