Inno3D GeForce 6600GT PCI Express Review

November 29th 2004 | Graphics Cards

There is no doubt that the HIS X600XT is no slouch when it comes to the performance of a mid-range card, but as we’ve seen, not only does the Inno3D 6600GT outperform it in almost every benchmark but the image quality is better. While I had no preference to either nVidia or ATi in the past, I have to say that the 6600GT is the mainstream killer that nVidia was hoping for and Inno3D has done a fine job with it.

Though we were unable to achieve any gains in FPS with the card overclocked, the partnership between Inno3D and CoolerMaster to provide cooling solutions will be a good thing for the end user in the long run. Both Inno3D and CoolerMaster have good reputations in their respective fields and the combination of these will benefit both companies.

And let’s not forget that this card is SLI capable. While SLI motherboards aren’t to be currently found on store shelves, they should be out soon.

You won’t be playing Half-Life 2 with all the eye candy jacked up on this card, but you also won’t be spending a fortune on it either. Just turn the AA/AF off and frag away, you’ll have a blast knocking out Xenians on a post-apocalyptic Earth.
