The X800GT from HIS is targeted towards the consumer that is stuck with an old PCI Express card and wants a decent upgrade to allow them to enjoy the latest games at lower resolutions without having to drain their bank account. Sure, it isn’t the fastest card on the market, but it isn’t intended to be. For example, you just purchased your new PCI Express and could only afford maybe an X600pro or maybe even an X600XT and you find you are need of a cheap mainstream performance alternative, you now have an option.
I am not going to drag this card down just because it doesn’t perform as fast as the X800XL seeing the X800GT version is US$100 cheaper. To the hardcore gamer, the extra US$100 wouldn’t be a problem but for the everyday computer user/gamer, that money could be put towards a designer computer case or pretty well anything.
