Half-Life 2 Multiplayer Mode & Test Maps

No, not Counter-Strike Source - this is a hidden multiplayer mode for Half-Life 2 Retail! Details were posted by Overrideband at HL2World and now two test maps and instructions have surfaced at Half-Life 2 Files.

Description:
A pack of 2 maps to be played on Half-Life 2 Retail Multiplayer. [Yes, MULTIplayer!]

Here’s how:
Type the following commands into the console in order to setup a server. To get the console up either press the ~ key or put -cons

net_start
sv_lan 0
deathmatch 1
maxplayers (whatever you want)
map (mapname ie hl2mp2.bsp)
restart

To connect to a multiplayer game just type:

“connect” followed by the IP address the port number is usually “27015″.

Example: connect 127.0.0.1:27015

Extract this mappack to your hl2 “maps” folder, until some decent custom made ones are made!
