Taiwan-based graphics-card makers Albatron, AOpen, Chaintech Computer, Gigabyte Technology and Micro-Star International (MSI) claim they have begun volume shipments of their SLI-ready PCI Express (PCIe) graphics cards based on the recently introduced Nvidia GeForce 7800GT graphics processor unit (GPU), according to the companies.

Asustek Computer, on the other hand, is scheduled to launch its Extreme N7800 GT based on the new GPU at the end of this month, the company said.

All the companies are offering GeForce 7800 GT GPU-based graphics cards that feature 256MB of DDR3 memory with a 256-bit memory bus. The 7800 GT cards also support 400MHz RAMDAC 2048×1536 (at 85Hz), and feature dual DVI and video in and out (VIVO) connectors.
