Gigabyte’s GV-NX78X256V-B is a good soldier that follows orders, in this case, the standard design as specified by NVIDIA. There is no pre-overclocking but as we have said earlier, overclocking is not too hard for the technically inclined. However, compared with its rivals who do endorse overclocking, there is a significant distinction. Cards from Leadtek, MSI and ASUS, just to name a few, have provisions for overclocking (e.g. MSI’s D.O.T utility, Leadtek’s BIOS update to enable higher default clock speeds). This also means that the vendors will cover the end-users against defects resulting from the endorsed overclocking. This could be crucial as overclocking is not without risks and US$599 is not exactly a trivial sum.. ..With a price tag that should fall right in the middle of the competition, this is one competent card that’s worth its price.
