Gigabyte GV-3D1 Motherboard Video Card Combo Review

April 5th 2005 | Graphics Cards

GigaByte has released a motherboard and video card that are bundled together, the GV-3D1. This combo includes the GigaByte GA-K8NXP-SLI motherboard, and a dual GPU 6600GT video card. In the following review I am going to review the motherboard and video card in two separate sections.

…So, you are looking to upgrade your computer to an Athlon64 939 socket motherboard with PCI-E. You also need to buy a new video card. So the question is, should you buy this motherboard / video card combo? The answer to that is yes. If you are looking to get one of the best boards you can get and you want a good PCI-E video card, then this is the combo to get.

At current pricing at my deadline for this review, this combo costs $549 with is the motherboard and video card. The motherboard you can get for $189, so that means you are paying $360 for the video card. This card is slightly better then a 6800Ultra, which is currently retailing for around $500 depending on manufacturer. So if you buy this combo, you are getting a video card that is better then a 6800 Ultra, for about $140 cheaper. This makes this combo one of the best values I’ve seen in a long time.

Score: 9/10
