Technology announces the GA-7NNXP, a flagship model of the NVIDIA nForce2 chipset
based motherboard, accompanied with the launch of AMD Athlon XP 400MHz FSB
processor. The brand new GA-7NNXP inherits the extreme power of nForce2 Ultra
400 platform processors and contains the innovative “6-Dual Miracle”
design to deliver an ultimate solution with unprecedented performance and rock-solid

The New Generation nForce2 Platform Processors
The GA-7NNXP consists of the new generation NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400 System
Platform Processor (SPP) and Media and Communications Processors-Turbo (MCP-T).
The SPP carries the next generation architecture consisting of 400 MHz system
bus, dual channel DDR400 controller and AGP8X graphics interface to provide a
framework for excellent performance. The unique Dynamic Adaptive Speculative Pre-processor
(DASP) and Hyper-Transport is integrated to boost the overall system performance.
The nForce2 MCP-T, included the richest set of connectivity solutions and finest
audio features, delivers a complete solution for home and office environment.

Revolutionary “6-Dual Miracle” Design Included
The GA-7NNXP is also integrated with revolutionary “6-Dual Miracle”
design which has received attention and approval from media and customers’ opinions
since its introduction last year. Six building blocks constitute the “6-Dual”
Miracle design. The first element represents the innovative Dual Power System
(DPS) design. The second one is the new generation memory architecture - Dual
Channel DDR with enhanced strength for DDR400. The third component is Dual RAID
including SATA RAID and ATA133 RAID, which deliver substantial storage capacity
and performance. Dual Cooling System, the forth element, is designed to further
reduce the thermal issue. The fifth is the well-known DualBIOS. The last
is the innovative Dual LAN design.
Dual Power System (DPS)
The Dual Power System (DPS) is an ingenious design applied to enhance the
stability of the system. In a DPS designed motherboard, an additional 3-phase
power circuit DPVRM (Dual Power Voltage Regulator Module) daughter card is added
to the motherboard to provide a total of 6-phase power circuit - twice the amount
recommended by the current standard motherboard design guideline. This effectively
provides a more durable and stable power circuit to sustain a larger electric
current of up to 150A. The DPS technology is conceived and specially designed
for intensifying the stability of current and future systems with a high working
frequency.
Dual LAN Solution with Intel® Gigabit LAN integrated
Combined Gigabit and Ethernet LAN solution, the innovative Dual LAN design
of 7NNXP allows a PC to serve as a network gateway for managing traffic between
two separate networks. This capability ensures rapid transfer of data from WAN
to LAN without any added arbitration or latency. With the bandwidth of 1 Gigabit/s
of Intel Gigabit LAN solution, users can efficiently download MP3 and AVI data
and distribute the information to locally networked PCs.
Dual Channel DDR400
The nForce2 SPP represents the new generation Dual Channel DDR solution for
AMD AthlonXP processors. The dual channel DDR400 architecture provides an supreme
bandwidth of 6.4GB/s and gives users even greater performance than that of RDRAM
memory which is already well known for its outstanding speed.
Dual RAID
With Silicon Image Serial ATA and GigaRAID RAID controller chips, the GA-7NNXP
provides two RAID interfaces to deliver sound data protection and tremendous capacity
for data storage.
Silicon Image Serial ATA controller chip delivers the emerging Serial ATA interface with the option of RAID function to the platform. The Serial ATA interface is the next generation storage interface with scalable performance for desktop platform.
The brand new GigaRAID IDE RAID chip, a full function RAID controller, supports RAID 0(Striping), RAID 1(Mirroring), RAID 0+1 function, and JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Drives). JBOD is newly developed function that makes disks appear to be logical one for easier disk management. The ITE GigaRAID also provides additional two UDMA ATA-133/100 interfaces that support up to 4 ATAPI devices such as hard drive.
Dual Cooling System
The Dual Cooling System consists of a DPVRM active fan sink and an active
fan sink located on the SPP. With these two active fan sinks, the heat produced
by the SPP and MOSFET located on the DPVRM are greatly reduced. In addition, the
airflow path is designed to drain heat out from the fan sink ditches, providing
extra ventilation to the surrounding heat dissipating components.
DualBIOS
On Gigabyte motherboards with DualBIOS there are physically two BIOS
chips. If the main BIOS fails to boot up due to virus infection or catastrophic
failure, the back up BIOS automatically takes over on the next system start up.
This innovative technology assures the motherboard’s stability and reliability.

In addition to the USB 2.0 interface, the nForce2 MCP-T also integrates hardwired
IEEE1394 support. The multimedia-oriented high-bandwidth IEEE1394 interface will
