Gigabyte GA-8I945P Dual Graphic (Intel 945P Express) Review

September 2nd 2005 | Hardware

Gigabyte’s GA-8I945P Dual Graphic has no delusions of trying to overthrow its big brother, the GA-8I955X Royal. Gigabyte designed the board with basic functionality and a dash of more exotic features so that it seemed to be a blend of mainstream practicality and enthusiast charm. What Gigabyte seemed to be looking for was a good mix of both worlds.

Reviving their Dual Graphic Link and Quad View technologies for the GA-8I945P Dual Graphic, Gigabyte made available a second PCIe x16 slot on the PCB, providing users with an option to install another graphic card for a multi-display capabilities.

The Gigabyte GA-8I945P Dual Graphic was one board that had a surprising lack of problems. At US$164, the Gigabyte GA-8I945P Dual Graphic is set to debut slightly above the average price range, but it has the makings and perks of a great board. Nicely done, Gigabyte.
