Gigabyte 8N-SLI Royal Motherboard Review (NVIDIA nForce4 SLI Intel Edition)

Gigabyte’s 8N-SLI Royal motherboard (NVIDIA nForce4 SLI Intel Edition) picks up a Recommended Product Award in t-break’s review:

Looking at the benchmarks on the previous pages, we can easily see that the 8N-SLI is a pretty good performer in all kinds of test. We’re also happy with the board’s packaging- those SATA cables that lock into the port and device are great. Overclocking wasn’t that great on the 8N-SLI even though Gigabyte provided plenty of options. However, that’s a general case with Gigabyte boards and we don’t think they focus too much on overclocking.

Feature-wise, Gigabyte has packed a reasonable number of onboard options such as an extra RAID controller, an additional Gigabit Controller and a Bluetooth dongle. Being an SLI board, you also have an option of adding a second video card later on; however, we liked MSI’s SLI implementation more which works without the daughter card. Like most Gigabyte boards, the stability factor was great in the 8N-SLI especially with their Dual BIOS and DPS options.
