GameShadow Ltd, the company behind the games industry’s most innovative automatic update and patch technology, has announced that it has entered into a partnership with graphics processing specialist NVIDIA. This will enable owners of NVIDIA GeForce graphics processing units (GPU) and NVIDIA nForce media communications processors (MCP) to enjoy the benefits of simple, fast updates for their graphics drivers and get the best performance from their NVIDIA rigs. The partnership also coincides with the company reaching a key milestone of half a million users much earlier than anticipated.
Tony Treadwell, founder and COO of GameShadow commented: “When we set GameShadow up, the ambition was simple - to make it easy and quick for gamers and PC owners to get the patches and drivers that they needed. Today, not only do 500,000 users save time searching for individual updates to maximise the performance of their kit and finding the best patches for their favourite games, but they also have open access to some additional unique and highly desirable games content. Our partnership with NVIDIA means that we will continue to play an important part in ensuring that gamers experience the very best from their games catalogue.”
Darryl Still, NVIDIA’s Director of Content Management for Europe, commented: “We have been very impressed with the ethos and ambitions of GameShadow. They aim to make it simple for users to get the latest NVIDIA drivers and game patches on fast, free servers. The intelligent software tells gamers which updates they need, which removes confusion, complexity and hassle, and is fully in tune with NVIDIA’s The way it’s meant to be played values.”
To celebrate the partnership, NVIDIA and GameShadow have created an advent calendar counting down the top 24 most popular downloads on the GameShadow service in 2006. Guess that most popular download and win an NVIDIA 7950 graphics card.
