The Game Initiative Conference team: Hurricane Wilma’s pass through Florida this morning knocked The Game Initiative web and email servers off-line. More than 2,000 game industry professionals will converge in Austin this week for the Austin Game Conference, Women’s Game Conference and Game Writers Conference. All three conferences will take place at their appointed times below.
While the conferences take place in Austin our conference web sites (and email servers) are located in Ft. Myers, Florida and are currently without power. We are working to restore the backup generator and hopefully we will be up and running shortly.
We are alerting the media of this outage and have established a temporary web blog http://austingame.typepad.com/ to communicate with attendees and propsective attendees eager to review the conference schedule and register online. This basic web site will allow individuals to register who have not done so already. Also due to the inability to register at the last minute onsite registration prices will remain the same as the online early registration prices ($165 for professionals and $115 for students).
