The Func 1030 Archetype worked very well with laser and optical mice for everything from Battlefiled2 to Call of Duty2 to daily applications like Photoshop and office. I borrowed one of the new G5 and G7 laser mice from a local store to see how well it worked with the 1030 and I was very happy to see there was excellent tracking with both. My trusty Optorite laser and Razer both were smooth and responsive as well. During gaming I never felt like I was cramped for space or in any awkward wrist bend or anything seeing as the 1030 base is very thin.
It is hard to improve on a great design but Func has done just that by redesigning the 1030 into the 1030 Archetype, that provides better feel and more natural shape for today’s gamers. The new clip and redesigned surface makes even today’s high speed laser mice a welcome addition to any gamer’s arsenal. The 1030 Archetype a 10 out of 10.
