Fujitsu Siemens Computers has announced a recall for batteries in specific AMILO notebooks after it discovered some units may overheat and pose a fire risk - AMILO A, AMILO M and AMILO Pro V2020 models are impacted. Potentially defective batteries will be replaced free of charge by the company.
Fujitsu Siemens recommends that customers with batteries affected by the recall should stop using them immediately, and operate their notebook on AC power only.
The recall affects the following rechargeable lithium ion batteries only:
• Battery model ending number - all impacted models end with G1L1
• Computer model name: AMILO A7640, A1640, M1405, M1424, M1425, M7405, M7424, M7425 and AMILO Pro V2020.
No other AMILO, AMILO Pro or LIFEBOOK notebook batteries are involved in the exchange program.
