FujiFilm FinePix S5200 Digital Camera Review

November 29th 2005 | Cameras

The S5200 DSC from FujiFilm is a particularly interesting model which straddles the line between point-and-shoot cameras and single-lens reflex (SLR) ones. For some time DSLRs were out of reach to anyone besides consumers, though they have a number of clear advantages over their cheaper, and a smaller, brethren. The trickling down of DSLRs has brought consumers photographic performance which was not possible before, and though the S5200 is not exactly what comes to mind when you think of digital single-lens reflex camera, it still has a lot to offer.

..Overall, I was very happy with FujiFilm’s S5200 camera. Though it is in a murky region between the consumer and enthusiast level it has the features and performance which will satisfy any weekend photographer. It Super CCD shoots very well and even indoors it minds its manners and produces a solid image. Using features like the AF Assist illuminator and Natural Light setting even a person with limited photography experience can take some great shots. This camera offers reliable shots which are of a quality with most consumers will be more than happy with. Even the battery life was good, our four AA batteries lasted for about 350 shots.
