Hi All,

I have been doing some homework on Socket 754 MOBO's lately and have a few questions: I would like a good MOBO with a Nforce3 chipset. (I believe the Nforce3 is one of the better chipsets, tell me if I am wrong!.)

I have already have a new AMD Athlon64 3400 CPU (with 1MB L2 cache). I was planning to buy an ASUS K8N and a matched pair of Corsair memory modules. But have read in this forum about various memory issues with ASUS mobo's and more than one memory module involved. There are other problems as well.

What is the overall best brand of Socket 754 (AMD64) MOBO's that has the least chipset problems? (ie. RAM, firmware updates, compatibility issues.) I would like to stay in the same price range as the Asus K8N.

This computer would be for my daughter for college type work.

Thanks!

I'd say stick with the Asus. I have two diffrent Asus boards, one running Corsair, the other running Kingston. I have had zero issues with either of these boards.

Looking around at Newegg. The only other Nforce3 board I would pick up is the DFI LANPARTY UT nF3 250Gb. Thats a bit out of your price range though.
