I have tried with the BIOS 1013 modified with 4284 and it doesnot boot. then I tried with 1013 modified with 4250 and all is OK. Both SATA disk raptor 150Go and Seagate 1To are recognized by SiI3112 and OS boot on 150Go. Smile Very Happy

Just a quick thanks for these updated BIOS files!

The Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe 1013 BIOS with added v4.2.83 Sil3112 (SATA) BIOS by NeoPolus (based on Über BIOS) worked like a champ.

Despite having the latest official BIOS, my Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe would not properly recognize my Seagate 750GB SATA drive (regardless of whether the jumper was set for SATA 1.5 or SATA 3.0). My boot process would hang at the RAID configuration step.

Upgrading to the updated v4.2.83 Sil3112 BIOS fixed the issue and my new drive is fully operational.

Ditto post above.

I added a 1Tb HD with no joy as the system hung and bios screen. The "Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Trats 1013 BIOS with SATA 4283 by NeoPolus" saved the day. What can I say!

Thanks for all the effort all that time ago Wink

Big up my main man Scooby for throwing me this thread too.

Installed "Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe Trats 1013 BIOS with SATA 4283 by NeoPolus" and it flashed ok according to Awdflash and the bios.

No boot...

Goes through normal POST and sees RAID set...then goes to the screen of "safe mode, or safe mode with networking, or safe mode with command line, or continue with last good reboot, or continue loading."

NONE of these work, it just goes back to POST sequence...one viscious circle.

I can enter the BIOS and I can enter the RAID setup and I have made a flash boot disk as my floppy isn't working, wasn't prior to this either.

A7N8X-E Deluxe with 2 (RAID 1) 160G Seagate disks using XP pro
I can post pic's of Bios if needed.

Any suggestions??

Ok, I have to say that I corrected the autoexec.bat file so it could find the .bin file. This wouldn't run without it changed, which brings me to ask...HOW did the rest of you get it to run??? Are we changing it and keeping silent about it?

Autoexec.bat reads "Awdflash.exe C18E1U13.BIN /py /sn /cd /cp /cc /LD /R" and the bin name is C18E13US.BIN.
What gives??

It must be changed in order to install and flash the BIOS.

BTW still no boot and I don't see this as the reason! ...there is no other choice with the provided autoexec.bat.

Dave

I just used the bios update utility at the bios screen which found and loaded the new bios from a floppy disk

I just found the new "home" of NeoPolus where you can download the files: http://www.kami.es/

Good luck!
