Fried Motherboard? NF7 V2.0

I might have done it now. After many builds I finally might have a fried motherboard. Need suggestions. I took out my old memory to verify the type in my system, reinstalled, booted it up, system beeped, smelled smoke, shut down. The one memory stick was not all the way in place and smelled like smoke. I took out. Tried to restart three times, each time the system gave loud beeping sounds. Fourth time I tried it wouldn't even power up. Does this sound like a dead motherboard or something else? Thanks
