Hello,

I have an a8n32-sli deluxe. I am trying to create a raid 5 array to install winxp sp2 pro. I am using 3 Western Digital 500g drives connected to Sata ports 1,2,3.

I have the nvidia array and the sata ports enabled on the main bios. I have created the array in the Nvidia MediaShield array utility selecting raid 5 and all 3 discs. However, the array shows N/A under the boot column. And the press B Set Boot is greyed out.

Please help. Any ideas? thanks.

Have you done the correct settings at the point "HARD DISK BOOT PRIORITY" within your mainboard BIOS? The RAID should be at first place.

Yes. The raid is 3rd after the CD and floppy.

I have even tried just using 2 of the three drives in a mirror raid. That does not work either.

You misunderstood me. I did not mean the BOOT DEVICE ORDER(first bootable device should be the CD/DVD-ROM), but the HARD DISK BOOT PRIORITY settings. That is another option within the mainboard BIOS.
You will only be able to boot off your RAID array, if you have set the RAID into the first position of the "HARD DISK BOOT PRIORITY".

This is always a good thing to check. I've run into situations where after a driver install, (usually the installation of MediaShield) will reset the boot order in my BIOS ... kinda wierd, but it happens... definitely worth a look.
