Hi,

I'm getting very strange performance with my raid 1 array. I have an ASUS M2N32-SLi Deluxe and the windows boot disk with a raid 0 array which performs well. However the raid 1 array I can only get ~30MB/s read and 60MB/s write... this doesn't make sense since for raid 1 read *should* be quicker than write (I guess about the performance of raid 0 read since it can take the data off both drives). Any ideas whats causing this problem?

Cheers,

James

Yep I have the latest M2N-SLI Deluxe BIOS (1503). I did alot of fiddling around last night, I changed the disks from raid 1 to raid 0 and saw normal raid 1 speeds (~160MB/s+ burst, 90MB/s+ average) however when changing back to raid 1 the read speeds just go way down to 35-40MB/s average. I also tried the disks on their own where I go ~60MB/s average. I still can't see why RAID 1 would slow the read speeds down... it surely should speed them up or at least be the same as the individual disks...

Any more ideas would be much appreciated!

--EDIT
Just to let you know I have just tried changing the windows drivers for the sata controllers but hasn't helped the speeds at all, I switched from the latest nforce 590 AMD drivers to the drivers that came with the motherboard but no difference.

Nope its definitely the nForce 590, it is an M2N32-SLi Deluxe WiFi so I believe I have the correct drivers!
