This is my machine:
AN35N Ultra, Athlon 2700, 1gb ram, latest bios ("R" level). 3 hard drives: Drive 0, 150Gb split in 2 partitions. Drive 1, 60gb storage, Drive 2: 250Gb storage (specifically, a Maxtor 6Y250P0).
Everything has been working fine for about 2 years now.....then I needed to rebuild my machine this weekend.
Everything went fine there, EXCEPT my Maxtor 250Gb HD now shows up as "Unallocated".
I've verified the "large hard drive" registry key is set.
I'm running XPSP2 with all updates.
I haven't rejiggered wires, etc.
All I did was reinstall the OS on the first partition of Drive 0 (C: drive). Now, *poof*, Drive 2 has disappeared.
Oh, did I mention that I backed up all my data from my C drive to the 250Gb HD? So I'm kinda stressed out now I just _knew_ I should have backed the stuff up to my external USB HD. Ah, isn't hindsight lovely?
ok, anybody have suggestions?

Welcome to the Forums DGW!
Maybe try the 250G drive on the connection that the 60G is using now???
Maybe pull the 60G completely for the moment
Are you running with jumpers or using cable select?
Good Luck!
Regards, Szandor

Interesting...I just recently backed up a bunch of stuff to a Maxtor 200GB drive (fairly new drive...couple of weeks old) from my C: drive. I'd also run chkdsk and defragmented, and then ran Partition Magic to make a change on my boot/C: drive, a 200GB Seagate. Lo and behold, Partition Magic showed my 200GB Maxtor empty/unallocated, and I lost all my data, poof; back in Windows it was also gone...go figure. This makes be nervous, because I'm also running an AN35N/Ultra. Unfortunately, I have no suggestions for you, just sympathy...I had every piece of software I've purchased via download for the last 5-7 years along with license keys, 100s of mp3s, videos, etc. lost, and hadn't backed up to DVD-RW in quite awhile...I won't be this stupid again.
