Hey there, hope some of you gurus can help!

A friend of mine has an Asus motherboard P5B-E motherboard, and has real problems with USB keyboards. They were using a Zboard keyboard that would randomly disconnect the USB (standard XP ding dong) then reconnects very quickly. They got another keyboard, (a Saiteck) which ran for ages fine, then started doing the same thing.

I suguested downloading and installing latest intel drivers, which they have done but is no different. Using different keyboards does not solve the problem. And the "save power by turning this device off when in not use" is disabled.

i cannot think of anything else that would help other than a bios update. a google search lead to a few possible but very unlikely (dodgy connections) solutions.

its XP Pro 32bit, tried all ports on the back of mobo.

Her internet connection is running via Wifi USB adaptor, and that is working 100% fine all the time. So its just keyboards

Any help at all would be greatly apreciated!

Thanks. Martin

check to see if USB Keyboard and Mouse setting is to enabled in the Bios, i know this shouldnt really have any affect on windows but it has sorted 1 or 2 probs out for me in the past.
