Here is the case I am using. You can put as many fans as you want. If you put more than 3 you should get a fan controller if you hate the noise. There are 7x 120mm fan placements and a fan slot to place on the backside of your CPU(rear of motherboard). I have had a lot of cases and have had to mod nearly all to get the right thermals, but this one is almost perfect. The only thing I would change is to include a fan controller. Plus you can easily use a watercooling setup with this one.

Antec 1200.
It's filtered unlike the 900, and has built in fan controllers, and super quiet fans.
Also, it has spaces for 9 hard drives, and 3 DVD drives.
Did I mention the extreme cooling?
I paid $200 for both of mine, newegg had them on sale a bit ago for $160 or so.
It includes all the fans you need, including 5 120 tricool cans, and a huge fan, like a 200 or something. On low they really are quiet.
I recommend chaining it down if you want to run all the fans on high.

I have an antec 900 as well, and I actually transplanted a system out of it into a 1200 because it was too hot in there.
Yeah, it's big and expensive, but cases are the biggest cooling improvement you can make that affects an entire system.

Just to note, I'm still running fine with a mATX case and it always manages to keep things pretty cool.

It needs a bit of a tidy up, which I'll do when I upgrade the PSU later in the week, but even still an Antec Earthwatt 380W is happily supplying the juice for a Q6600, a 9800GTX+ and a 9500GT in the same box, and a single 120mm case fan deals with the heat.

You've undervolted that quad haven't you PA?

I've decided on the antec twelve hundred. Gives me the necessary room for a dual gpu setup in the future.. Should be picking it up tomoro.. I'll put up some pics :)

Nope, it's just a nice G0 that runs at 1.1v default

Just swapped the 9500GT for my old 9600GT, and ~11k PPD for one mATX box seems pretty good so far :-

Weelll, I guess it's OK. :roll: That's pretty cool man. I am having issues here at the apartment with our a/c. We are waiting for them to replace it. I have had my PCs shut down due to thermals several times. I even have to turn them off during the day because of heat. That's with the OCing turned way down or off. It's killing my ppd. I am throwing a pity party and everyone's invited! :cry: JK.

Hey guys, if I were to build a dedicated multi-GPU folding rig , which components would be most cost effective?

CPU = ?
Mobo = ?
GPU = 2 X 9600GT?
RAM = 512MB? Planning on installing XP Home
