I upgraded to 7.10 from terminal ( sudo aptitude dist-upgrade ). I made sure that my 7.04 was fully up to date prior to doing the distro upgrade. Ever since getting 7.10, the machine locks up every single time the screen saver has been running for awhile. You have any issues with it PA? 7.04 ran like a charm! I never had any issues whatsoever.
The rig I'm using is as follows:
CPU: Barton 2500+ (OC'ed to 2.4) This OC ran fine on 7.04
MOBO: A7N8X-E Deluxe
RAM: 1.5 gigs Kingston Hyper X DDR 400
GPU: Nvidia 7800GS
HD's: 1x Western Digital 160 gig, and 1x Western Digital 250 gig (storage drive)
If I continue to have problems, I might just start over using 7.10, instead of running the upgraded version.

I haven't done the upgrade from Feisty to Gutsy, but I've just installed Gutsy with a fresh install and it seems to be good so far.
I agree though, still I think in some ways Feisty is better, I prefer the older layout of the menus etc, but hey it's early days yet, it might grow on me... |

Hi!
Here on my Dell Notebook I use Ubuntu 7.10, too. Runs great! Very recommended for starting in the Linux world or for an long time Linux user as me.

Agreed, me too.
I like that although Ubuntu could be considered 'Linux for noobs', like any good distro there is always the CLI there, but the fact that you 'don't' really need it for general use is very appealing also.
Having the x-config GUI in 7.10 is pretty cool also, as I know getting your display sorted out/edited for a novice used to be pretty harsh.

Am almost tempted to do that. If I cant game in Vista, whats the point of having a Microsoft OS installed?
