A7N8X Deluxe Silicon Image SATA Driver For Vista

Postby Protocol » Fri Feb 23, 2007 10:33 am

I am running Silicon Image SiI 3112 Serial ATA RAID Driver v1.0.0.29 on Vista 32 at the moment, and was wondering if there is a newer driver that may work better with Vista 32.

The Silicon Image controller has never been supported by Windows, so I always have to add it manually.

I have had a browse of the Silicon Image website, but am not sure if the drivers I looked at are the correct ones.

Has anyone had any experience with these drivers? What is the best version to use? Where can I get them from?

SiI3x12 32-bit Windows SATARAID Driver BETA 1.0.57.0 BETA 9/24/2006

Didnt look very hard, and before you think thats for Raid, it is a Raid Controler so dont matter if 1 or 2 HDD's

Hi folks,
Same motherboard (rev 2.0), with the latest 1008 BIOS (with the 4.2.79 SiI3112 BIOS via the patched BIOS image available around here), and I'm gettting the following message in a dialog box after selecting the driver in the vista setup....

Code: Select all
Install Windows: setup.exe - Entry point not found

The procedure entry point LZClose could not be located in the dynamic link
library KERNEL32.dll

I'm doing a vista upgrade from a fresh install of Windows2000. (Because it's W2000, Vista only gives the option of a brand new installation, not an upgrade as such)

I've tried the following drivers from http://www.siliconimage.com/support/supportsearchresults.aspx?pid=63&cid=3&ctid=2&osid=10&

SiI3x12 32-bit Windows BASE Driver 1.3.67.0
SiI3x12 32-bit Windows BASE Driver 1.3.65.2
SiI3x12 32-bit Windows SATARAID Driver BETA 1.0.57.0 BETA

I've googled, and can see people have installed vista with this board, and once they've got the correct drivers, things seem to be ok.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
tim

I used:
SiI3x12 32-bit Windows SATARAID Driver BETA 1.0.57.0 BETA

Windows Update will update it to 1.0.60.0.

Windows Update will update it to 1.0.60.0.

Yeah, I noticed that. I ended up using a very very old driver to get the install to work. (Sorry, I can't remember which version it was, but it was the same one I have on a floppy that I downloaded when I first got the mb a couple of years ago.) I'll post if anyone needs it.

Anyhoo, windows update replaced the driver last week no problem. Go figure.

Cheers,Tim
