Hi
I have 4 pcs. muskhin 2 Gb DDR2-800 ram sticks for this motherboard. They are exactly equal. The motherboard will only boot well with 2 of these. The nominal voltage of the sticks is 1.8 volt. But I have tried with +0.1 volt. It does not help.
The motherboard has some LEDs by the ram. They light up all 4, and the cpu cooler fan spins up, then slows down again, and it is repeated. The booting is not fullfilled. Have never seen such a fenomena before.
(I am not using the 2 DDR3 slots, that the motherboard also have.)
The power supply ia Chill Innovation 510 watt. I use 20/24 atx adapter. The graphics card is a pci express geforce 8600 GT with 512 Mb DDR3 ram on it, a silent asus version. Then I have also a 250 Gb sata2 harddisk and a dvd-rom drive.
The bios used is the F2, since F3 is in beta.
Any suggestions ?

Well, I forgot to mention that the CPU is E8400.
I have read a nice forum the other day:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/248642-30-gigabyte-motherboards-boot-cycles
giving a lot of answers and questions. I tried to let the motherboard do several reboots in order to find a suited setting, but it did not fullfill. When I remove one ram (then 6 Gb in) it can boot. But with 4x, Nono.
I have tried upping DDR voltage with 0.2 volt, and also chipset and cpu voltage. Nothing helped. I also disabled several CPU speed slow down settings in bios, and still no luck.
I think I will buy the MSI Neo2-FR board instead. It supports mushkin ram, and has e-sata port. This is cheaper than changing the ram to another brand (recommended by gigabyte). Ram mismatch seems to be the reason. The motherboard is very picky about that.
