nuttz, i thought that would do it. i've had problems with cas 3 setting before on my board.
your showing the vdimm for the memory at 2.55v. bump it manually to 2.7v(also 2.8v). might as well try a bump in vcore to 1.70v. then try different cas settings.
i reread your 1st post and why it won't even work at 166 is beyond me. your also saying no pc3200 works in the single slot? the pc2700 runs in the single slot?

that is my only problem, single slot (3) is not accepting ddr3200 no mather what size ... tried with 256 and 512 MB at different settings ,nothing, won't post...
it goes c1...c3... and stop posting at 01 (not an valid post code) and power led is blinking. With ddr2700 works just fine, dual channel enabled !
I don't know much about... what controlls the memory on the board...
or maybe the CMOS chip is corrupted ? |

i doubt the bios chip has a problem. do you see any caps leaking or swelling? other than maybe something is wrong with the slot, i'm out of ideas.
you can try making the best of a bad situation and try different configurations to get the best out of the system.
using a couple of these apps to test it out.

raise fsb in windows so you don't have to clear the bios, when you get to greedy.

if you still have the 2600 you could use the 11.5 multi with the pc3200 in single channel@2300mhz+.
also your always welcome and ask away at

there's also a pretty good memory forum there. maybe somebody can at least say why not.

Update:
-disabled external cache
-set HALT to no errors
-reset CMOS,
and got the ddr3200 256 MB stick in slot 3, posted OK, now is running dual channel, ddr2700 256MB in slot 1 and ddr3200 256MB in slot 3 ,so,at least I've got ddr3200 accepted in slot 3. But no luck with the 3200 512MB twins, still won't post in dual channel, so the 512 twins are going back (RMA) and I'll get another ddr3200 256MB to replace ddr2700 on slot one (unless I'll get a fix from Chaintech support and I'll shift again to twinx1024 ddr3200).
I'll keep you informed about this...
Thanks again for your help,
Christian |
