I went through the stickies and search function, as I hate asking a question that's already been answered. Hopefully I didn't miss anything. I've always been told that, when you update drivers, you first uninstall the old drivers, running driver cleaner/sweeper where relevant. This is primarily what I do for my video card.

However, this process gives me issues with nForce, since I use raid. If I uninstall drivers, then my raid array is no longer detected under "storage" in my NV CP. It's still detected by the bios, and my drive still works. However, installing the new drivers will cause a BSOD/reboot cycle.

So, I'd reformat Vista, loading NV raid drivers off a thumb drive, and then after I get into Windows, I installed 15.17 with no issues. So am I to believe that the best way to install these drivers, is to just install them over a current installation? Uninstalling them seems to be a very bad idea.

If you have a nForce RAID array, you should never uninstall the nForce IDE (S-ATA and RnAID) drivers, because otherwise the OS will not detect your RAID devices and partitions at rebooting.
Main rule is to unistall the nForce Ethernet driver, before you are going to install a new one. All other nForce chipset drivers can be updated on top of the old ones.
