Corsair Value Select from newegg.com 512mb (2x256mb) - I had two SN41G2's running this stuff, one was rock stable, the other was flaky until I replaced it with some OCZ Basic pc2700
OCZ Basic pc2700 (2x256) also from newegg - been on my 3rd SN41G2 since day one, and has been running 24/7 ever since (I was an early adopter, bought it less than a month since it was released, paid I think $330 + s/h for it back then)
OCZ pc3200 Value (2x256) again from newegg - On my SN45G2v3, system was just built two days ago, rock stable so far, never a hiccup. Unfortunately these don't have the aluminum heatsinks the Basics have, but they're single sided, which I prefer.
*not a shuttle* OCZ EL pc3200 yes from newegg - abit nf7-s, running 24/7 since Dec 2002 (ok so I turned it off wen I moved in or out of dorm or to upgrade). But this stuff has survived all nighter marathon gaming sessions. I'm talking about from 10pm to 10am kinda gaming (unreal 2003, starcraft, counterstrike, quake3). I've managed to fry one stick before running a 225mhz fsb, I decided to slow down my fans so I could sleep, comp dead in the morning, werked fine after removing dead stick, played dumb with OCZ, and they promptly replaced it, and covered all shipping as well.
I'm such an OCZ whore (I'm an XMS whore too, but the 1st post said XMS was a given) |

| I have PC3200 Corsair-XMS XL (Platinum) 2-2-2-5, these are like one of the best RAM sticks money can buy. I have both an SN41G2 V2 and an SN41G2 V3, the memory works at 2-2-2-5 in my V2, but the V3 doesnt have the CAS 2 option in bios to run the sticks at 2-2-2-5, only has 2.5-2-2-5. Anyone know why ? |

I'm strongly considering upgrading my SN41G2 from 2X 256MB Corsair XMS to 2GB crucial.
Current Spec: AMD 2500 (Barton), 2x256MB Corsair XMS, ATI 9700 Pro, 120 GB HD, Windows XP Pro.
Will this be ok? |

I have an SN41G2 v1 which is nearing the end of its life cycle. It has
an AthlonXP 2.2 GHz and more USB hard drives slung to it than I care
to admit. (The same is true about the full-sized power supply with umbilical
wires going through the fan cut-out where the old PS used to be before it died.)
Someone donated some DDR(1) PC3200 2GB RAM to me (2 sticks of 2 GB each!)
Google/Shuttle claim this motherboard (FN41?) can only handle 2 GB. I was
wondering if anyone knew of a stable BIOS update that would allow me to use
all 4 GB.
Any help is appreciated. The next step might be to retire this Shuttle, which
would be too bad. (All the new ones that are really fast/good are 1/4" too high
for the space I have available for the computer!)
