|
|
|
Just changed from Asus to Abit and had to get an AN7 as my other(asus) board fried.
Updated the bios to the latest and now when I boot the pc up I get the message that there is a cmos error and that it will reset to default.
Once I reset it all and save it it goes for a day or so and then does it again.
Cmos jumper is set right.
Also the HLED(HDD led)only lights up on boot up or reset and no other time.
Any ideas on both problems?
Thnx. |

| I also just installed an AN7 from an A7n8x deluxe, the cmos battery that came with the AN7 mobo was dead, I replaced the battery with the one from the a7n8x mobo and that fixed my reset CPU boot error. Can't help you with the hdd lite though. |

Swapped boards(replacement AN7),HDD Led works on new one but everytime I boot it up after leaving it off for an hour I get CMOS checksum error, defaults loaded message.
Nothing wrong with the battery so what else can it be.
This is a new board today.

| sure sounds like a bad or undercharged CMOS battery. If you don't have a voltmeter to check the CMOS battery, I'd buy a new one and leave the pc on overnite. Who knows how long that battery had been sitting in there that new board of yours? |
