|

One of my computer running a Biostar M7NCD Pro repeatedly and frequently disconnects itself from the network for a short time and then automatically reconnects itself and acts like nothing is wrong, until it does it all over again.
I have another machine running the same mobo connected to the same network, and it seems to be running fine. I've tried using different wires and plugging the machine into different ports in both router and switch and the hub. It is the only machine on the network acting this way. I updated to the latest bios and that only seems to have made the problem worse.
This connection problem makes it almost impossible to download anything on the machine because it constantly drops the connection. Games and instant messaging programs are always being disconnected as well.
I thought I saw this question asked somewhere on this forum before, but after hours of searching both here and the internet, I still haven't found any solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

No, I'm not running any sort of firewall, or the Nforce connection software. Even the windows firewall is disabled.
I even tried forcing the connection to 100 full duplex and 10 full duplex in the NIC config screen. Both of those settings just made the problem worse, so I switched it back to the auto setting. |

| Unfortunately I do not currently have another NIC to install in the machine to test it. All of the computers I have are running off of the on-board NICs. I have tried connecting multiple computers to the same network cable and none of them have had any problems. |

I managed to find a NetGear F120 USB Ethernet Adapter laying around the house in the computer parts pile. I hooked it up, and so far it hasn't disconnected once as far as i can tell. Or at least it hasn't disconnected long enough to cause a problem with AIM like the on-board NIC was doing.
This is at least a temporary solution to the problem, but hopefully there is a way to get the on-board one working as well. According to my brother (it's his machine with the problem) it's been disconnecting ever since we put this Motherboard in. |
