SETI work units only average 340kb a piece and take 2 hours or more to complete even on a very fast computer. In just 10-15 minutes you could download 48hrs worth of work.  Millions of SETIatHome users are on dial-up! I'll let the other teams tell you about their respective capabilities on dial-up with the other projects . |

Yes...come on people...quit making lame excuses   .
Dail-up is fine....you all have nForce so your comp is more then capable....they use SPARE CPU cycles so its not like they are taking away from gaming performance or anything!
What other excuses do you have   |

Hrmm, which one should I join for a computer that doesn't stay on 24/7 and only sometimes is dialed in?
Basically I want something that can eat cycles when I tell it to in the background
