Each user of any nForce SataRaid system will be able to get Windows XP installed onto the RAID array.
I don't think, that this is an nForce IDE driver issue. There must be another reason for your XP installation problem.
Since you may have access to your Windows installation data via your running Vista, you should search for the files named SETUPAPI.LOG (listing the hardware detection and installation process) and SETUPERR.LOG (listing the important errors while installing the OS).
If you find these files, what are the entries of the SETUPERR.LOG and what is the content of the last lines of the SETUPAPI.LOG file?

no logs of that kind on my hard disk. the bsd happens b4 i can even generate a log file of any kind. b4 the select HD and partition step.

Its right as the screen says preparing to start windows or something like that. Screen flicks on and off 3 times b4 the BSoD.

I might as well give up cause the only reason I was installing xp was because the sound wasnt outputing right in vista. but now I installed a creative card and its in 5.1 now.

it just bugs me that I cant install xp on raid though.

So you didn't even come to the point of the hdd and partition detection?
Did you use a clean (=untouched) XP CD as source?

OK, if you ever should find the reason for your XP installation issue, please let me know it by PM, since I don't visit very often the NVIDIA nForce 500 Series Forum.

Best wishes
