hm ok so I can use the 67.8 drivers for everything else but for NIC i have to find another driver?
NIC is completely disabled in BIOS, so windows doesn't even see it. This doesn't matter? On XP i simply installed everything else except ethernet drivers seemed to work ok. |

If you don't use the NVIDIA LAN port, it makes no sense to install the nForce Ethernet driver v67.80.
As far as I know there doesn't exist any nForce chipset driver package for Vista x86/x64 (not even a modded one).
My suggestion: Install Vista x64 and look what happens. The only actual Vista nForce driver, which may be useful for you, is the SMBus driver v4.64, but I don't know, if nForce3 chipsets are fully supported. |

| Is there a way to test if my system is performing subpar? And is there a safe way to test different drivers? |

The best way to compare both Operating Systems XP and Vista on your system would be, if you create a separate partition for Vista (minimum size: 25 GB). Then you can test different nForce driver versions without currupting your currently running OS. |
