I'm seeing a lot more positive reviews of ECS boards lately. I'd always stayed away from them because of their reputation for terrible quality control.

Has the situation changed? They seem to have a few interesting boards, but I don't want to assume that just because a reviewer had a good experience, that the boards hold up well.

I have the KN1 Sli Extreme. I built this rig in Jan of this year and so far at stock (no overclocking) it works great. It's a stable board and decent feature set. The only thing I have done was un plugged the fan over the mosfet's because it was making crazy noise. The NB chipset fan is still fine and going strong.

I got the board for free, and while I don't think I would purchase this board, it's been fine for me. I think the quality had gone up, but the overclocking options and the nTune support are pretty bad. All and all a decent board.

I'm runnig their PN2-SLI2+. Beats the pants off of the 3(!) Asus P5n32-e SLI Plus boards I tried during this build. Went together smoothly, ran two hours of memtest 86 no problem, works well with my 3Ware 9650 PCI-Express x4 raid card in the middle video slot. So far, I gotta say, I am more impressed with this board than Asus's recent efforts, and I have been an Asus bigot for years.

I think they are still using bad capacitors though(likely to bulge/fail after a couple of years of use).

That would be like AMD buying Intel.
