Im buying a SN25P next week, and would like the system to be as quiet as possible, so i have to choose between one of these graphics cards :

http://www.quietpc.com/uk/components.php?#graphics

I take it that the ATI X800 is more powerful than the Nvidia 6600, but will either actually fit in the case? Those passive cooling heatsinks look rather large.

Those won't fit. The backside of the heatsinks stick out really far, so there isn't enough room.

If you have the cash, check some of the 7800 cards. Apparently they have fairly quiet fans in them.

The 7800's are way too expensive! I need something slightly cheaper - around the £200 - 250 mark.

A nvidia 6800 or ATI 800 would be ideal, but which model fits in the SN25P case? Any advice on this matter is welcome.

Pretty much any single slot cooler card will fit into the SN25P. The only ones that don't are the ones with big heatsinks on the backside. There is very little room for them since the back of the card is against the case.

Thanks for the info. I got a good deal on a 6800GT 256meg card, and the guy threw in a Arctic Cooling NV5 silencer as well. Any chance that the NV5 will fit when i get my sweaty hands on my SN25P?

Well, it all turned out right. I didnt realise before how quiet the Shuttles are, i mean i didnt realise it was booting up until i heard the HD clicking!

The 6800 is rather more noisy than the Radeon X600Pro i had in there at first, but its still a helluva lot quieter than my old midi tower. And if anyone is reading this and wondering whether to buy a Shuttle - Do It! Its the best PC ive ever had.

i've been using them for about 3 years now i think...

i started with their sv25 and moved to the sn41g2 and now the sn95g5.

i'm waiting to see if they put out a 6150/430 system soon. if they do, i'll upgrade my wife's old nforce2-400 tower to it.

the small and quiet systems are the best.

I'm thinking about getting a 6800GT for my SN4G12 - will the 300W PSU be able to handle it.

P.S. Sorry for the thread hi-jacking. Smile

If you have the Shuttle 300W, yes. I've got a 6800GT in my SN95G5 (w/ a 240W PSU)
