ECS-C5G1M-M Single looping 2 second beep every 5 seconds

I just built an new machine for my son with ECS-C5G1M-M as the motherboard. Having read it was finicky about Memory I went with 2 1G Sticks of Kingston MEM DII667 KVR667D2N5/1G and a 500 Watt Enermax Liberty PS. On many sites, this is compatible memory with the Nvidia 6100 North Bridge.

The machine powers up and then single beeps every 5 seconds for about 2 seconds on and on. This happened with 2 memory sticks installed. I reseated the memory and disconnected the floppy/HD/DVD drives and got the same. I removed one stick and then both sticks and got the same result. Appears that the system isn't recognizing the memory.

Anyone have experience with these memory sticks and any of the NVIDIA 6100 boards??????? If the memory is compatible I would guess the motherboard memory controller is defective. I have reset the bios a few times as well after each change of memory stick configuration to no avail.

i'd try reseating the cpu. while it's out check the pins.

I RMA'd the board to New Egg and replaced it with an ASUS M2N-MX. Put the maching back together and it ran!! I will stay with ASUS boards as I have done in the past. The extra few bucks are worth it !
