Hi. To set the SATA as a boot device, You must select "PCI" or whatever as your boot device, if your board doesn't have a SATA connector. I have a PCI IDE controller, and have to select "PCI" as boot device to boot the HDD.

On my Abit NF7-S Rev 2 motherboard with builtin SATA, I had to change the SATA timing setting in the BIOS to the largest number available (a few milliseconds instead of the default 2 microseconds) to avoid SATA file corruption issues.

Maybe you need to do something similar for your SATA PCI card?
