| I'm starting to think it's these boards. I picked one up last week to replace an old A7V600 (since I couldn't get another exact board or anythng else I wanted). Well, I got the first one to boot fine until I set the BIOS and then it never posted again. I tested everything from the 2700, 2 X 512MB of RAM, Video card, and PSU and it would all power up but no post. I took it all out of the case and set it up on my extra motherboard tray to make sure it wasn't a grounding issue and the same thing happened. Returned the board for another one and I have the same problem. I have an A7N8X Deluxe Rev. 1.04 that all of the components work perfectly in. The PSU is an Enermax Liberty 400 Watt, the RAM is Kingmax PC320 and I've also tried some Corsair as well with no luck. The Video card is just an ATI Radeon 9200 which is nothing special for what the system is for. I even cleaned the CPU and heatsink and applied a fresh bit of Artic Silver 5. I really have to say, I think it's these boards. If anyone is ever in need of a socket A board. Make sure you stay well away from Chaintech. |

| The 2 boards I've gone through I bought new at www.tigerdirect.ca. They tend to have a lot of older stuff lying around but it's not a store I would go to for anything high end or for good pricing. Tiger Direct has an american site tooo which is .com. Socket A motherboards are quite rare anywhere from what I know of. My main system is listed below but older systems are good for file servers, etc instead of scraping them. |
