Mmmm do I smell the sweet smell of market churn?
Or the smouldering of all those underpowered PSUs trying to run 300w+ graphics cards? |

where i live when PCI-E 16x were released a company were doing really nice gaming systems with PCI-E 16x boards and cards but only fitting standard 300watt PSUs.
They had so many systems back they couldnt keep up with the backlog and now the company dont exist, it was a big part of the company going down so i was told. |

Ouch, I can believe it too.
I'd still like to see a 'F1 style' power cap on PC power supplies though, 600W should be the absolute maximum limit per unit, and manufacturers should be forced to eek out as much efficiency as possible. Obviously CPU's/GPU's would have to be designed around this limit.
So sayeth dictator PA... |

You mean put the needs of the average consumer first? Dont be absurd! Profit always comes first, just call it progress and everyone is happy.

Is it profit to spend all your money on tech support, returns, and/or lawsuits? I never knew. |

| My minimums 400 on a PSU. I don't put enough cards or drives in my machines to warrant higher. |
