Hello! These are the issues I've been having:
Problems:
Windows XP does not have 5.1, except for some games (Titan Quest, Dark Messiah, HL2, etc).
WoW and Guild Wars has 5.1 sound effects, but 2.1 music.
In Oblivion, the footsteps echo from the front to the back speakers.
Hardware:
Mobo: Foxconn NF4UK8AA-8EKRS w/nforce4 ultra chipset
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 FX-55
video: nvidia geforce 7600GT
audio: nforce4 onboard audio
Software:
chipset drivers: system/chipset drivers from www.foxconnchannel.com (including audio)
NVMixer
What could the problems be with my audio? The 5.1 seems to work, but only for some things and not for others. Should I download the latest nvidia drivers instead of my foxconn drivers? If so, what drivers should I get for my chipset? I would imagine the newest (7/7/07) nForce4/500 series AMD drivers, no?
I'd appreciate any help you could offer me. Thank you in advance! |
