AN35N only reports HD at 166GB!

Hello all anyone who can shed some light my way would be apprieciated! I have been googling for days. Is the Bios limited to detecting 166GB or lower? Here is my problem in detail. Please help!

Bios only reports Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250GB as 166GB.. However, Bios does report correct model number.
HD Auto detection is as follows.
Cylinder 65535
Head 16
Precomp 0
Landing Zone 65534
Sector 255
I have tried clearing Cmos and loading Optimized defaults... However the result is the same. Bios only detects 166GB.. How can I get the Bios to detect the actual size?

Also should mention that I have been able to get XP to detect the full 250 with the Window's software Maxtor packaged. The main prob I have is after bios screen it takes a LONG time before the HD is accessed.

Nevermind all! Problem is fixed. Turns out I must have mucked it up when I was formatting with Maxtor's software. Maxtor has a program that will set the DDO so that the BIOS will see it as a smaller drive. Appearently, I unintentially did something there Embarassed !! Guess I had a few too many that night!

Thanks Gilly! After reformat and reinstal everything is working great! Drive access is much faster now!
