Hi, I'm using a board with an nForce 560 chipset and Realtek ALC888 audio codec. Today I finally installed a set of speakers and connected them to the rear and noticed that when I use my headphones in the front jack I still get audio from the rear. There is an option in the Realtek control panel to disable rear output when front connected and I have it selected, but it does it anyway.

I had to disable front jack detection otherwise the front jack didnt work at all. I am using Vista 64-bit.

Anyone here ever heard of this before or have any suggestions?

well usually tool sets coming with your Audio drivers has softwares for tihs purpose 'speaker'-setups... use those or search tool called 'nvswap' which is old tech. tool for speaker swaping. basically these days there is always even real time detection available of sound driver softwares, but as in RealTek so in SoundMAX and these it will be disabled by default suggest enabling system start speaker detection & auto adjust.
