Do not agree on that.
I want full control of the configurations. All of the configurations, controls, audio, online and video.
e.g. If I am happy with 45FPS and Ultra graphics, why should I be unhappy with 60FPS and High graphics?

BF3 removed the control configuration from me (I use RMB to jump since Q3A) and now Rage removes video configurations? |:|@

What I mean is I think the Auto-balancer is a good idea for most folks who just want to dive in and play the game and hopefully have a decent' ish experience without having to set any video config up. But yes, I also think there should always be an option to manually configure and/or disable it on a PC also. Both for video & controls.

Bear in mind too, that this is a totally new engine that has a unique method of rendering, so it's not surprising that there are a few teething problems here or there. I'd like to think that it'll be properly patched & fixed soon once id have enough user data in the wild to work with.

I don't think they've had any real reason to care...before Brink and Rage showed up, OpenGL was pretty much dead.

The game's beautiful, if it wasn't for this retarded Sewer Access DLC crashing (isn't that I registered the game with Steam enough proof I have a new copy? sheesh) every time it loads I'd give it 87% or so.

Possibly more, it's certainly entertaining. But the FPRPG-lite thing is just a little weird.

Ah yeah, dead apart from the fact that it powers almost all non-Windows OS based 3D applications, and will continue to do so for many years yet! :) (j/k)

But yeah, there's been a huge drought of OpenGL based games compared to what it used to be like back in the old days.

How did I know you'd feel the need to mention it?

Seriously, you know I was referencing Windows and gaming.

Hell, non Windows gaming was barely even a thing until Steam went over there.

I'm thinking more like practically the whole mobile market with smartphones and tablets, probably soon to be the biggest gaming market there will be... :-k

Well, considering the existing DS/PSP/3DS/Vita market alone is pretty huge...yeah. Smartphones have the quantity but they sure don't have the quality, so I'd give it a while before I even deign them worth noticing.

Not dealing with any of that since I got the Rage drivers installed again. It looks fantastic. I wonder if they enabled the GPU Transcoding option only available on NV cards.

Though I gotta say they released the game before it was ready, so it does deserve the criticism.

Alright, Dead City is the first place I've definately noticed the textures not keeping up.

I really wish I had a 2GB vidcard for this game, ya know? My next one will just have to be.
