problems with raid on a new disk

I just equipped myself with 2 brand new WDC 160 RE 16MB Sata (YS series) HDD's i wanted to use them in my board in RAID 0 Setup but with no luck.

I connected the drives, set the first 2 sata connections to raid and stored the bios settings. The system rebooted as predicted. So i press F10 to enter RAID configuration set up but before the bios switched to the second screen the system rebooted once again but this time with no response (blank screen).

I can go through whole bios just with one drive connected do the raid controller. When i try do connect a second one the system reboots. I tried different disk set-ups, different sata cables but with no success. I turned on the sata I limit for the disks

The hdd's work with no problem when set to work on a normal native sata controller.

What should i try next?
