Yep just download the x64 desktop version :-

http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop

Once you've installed it (installation is pretty straightforward and easy), make sure it's up to date first (launch Update Manager from Dash), or click in top right corner and click 'Software Updater'

Once done, download the fahclient_7.1.52_amd64.deb and the fahcontrol_7.1.52-1_all.deb from here (you don't need the viewer):-

https://fah-web.stanford.edu/projects/F ... etaRelease

And then just set it up the same as you would the Windows v7 client :sweet:

Here is a good reference guide if you're looking to pick up a cheaper used card to put together a folding rig.

I lost my spot in the top 10. I figured I'd get it back and then some
Those Westmere Xeons really pump out some points. Just added an Ebay special GeForce 465 yesterday.
Need to get it to work into the air conditioning and overclock that puppy

Moved my GTX 560 Ti from my home PC into one of my work machines for some 24/7 folding action, so hopefully I'll start putting out some decent points again also... :P

Guess who's back, back again, guess who's back, tell a friend...
Finally have a decent PC up and running. And f@h recognized my 670 this time :). I might try and OC this puppy after a week or so of having this running. I suppose only clocking the core would have any appreciable effect on it, eh?

Apparently these new beta GPU units can have me in the 200K ppd range, but I'm stuck crunching this seriously crappy, long 6K ppd one. :(
Whats everyone up to? Quiet as ever around here.

I can get about another 100K ppd out of my 4P if someone could explain to me how to find f@h on there and add the bigadv tag...I know its installed because it's turning in results but I can't find the 'program files' or anything there at all. I'm using the most recent version of ubuntu. Thanks guys :).
