WSJ report confirms Apple ousting Google Maps from iPhone
Like iPhoto for iOS, it will use in-house tech and OpenStreetMap data.
Apple will indeed cut Google out of a lucrative deal for mapping data for its mobile devices, according to the Wall Street Journal. The report supports an earlier rumor that iOS 6 would introduce Apple's long-planned replacement for Google Maps.

Former Mac Dev Slams Apple's 'Bloated' Pricing

You know things are bad when even former Apple employees are p*** over pricing. Normally these guys are thrilled to pay tons of money for upgrades like an "inconsequential processor clock bump."

The specs for the "new" Mac Pro had hardly changed, except for a tiny, inconsequential processor clock bump. Still no Thunderbolt, still no USB 3.0, no SATA III or RAM speed improvements - it seems like it's stuck in time in 2010. The only thing that's still high-end about it is the bloated price.

Nah, just as long as you've got enough acid to disolve the glue :P

Apple, Google using "military-grade spy planes" to make new maps, says senator
"Sunbathing in your backyard shouldn't be a public event," says Senator Schumer.

Apple and Google could push the limits of citizens' privacy thanks to the use of "military-grade spy planes" when creating their next-generation mapping technologies, according to Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY). Schumer expressed his concerns in a letter to the two companies this week, arguing that hyper-detailed images of people's backyards and other objects could pose a threat to both privacy and national security.

Apple Quietly Pulls Claims of Virus Immunity

Okay, you have to admit, this is pretty damn funny. Thanks to "twelfth" for the link to the laugh.

Apple has removed a statement from its messages on its website that Mac operating system X (OS X) isn't susceptible to viruses. Apple removed the previous statement "It doesn't get PC viruses" and replaced it with "It's built to be safe," and "Safeguard your data. By doing nothing" with "Safety. Built in."

So ultrabooks are being sold at the premium eh. Explains why I don't want one :p

But I'd expect average laptops and desktops to be much like the imac situation.
